Why Outside?

• Our incredible 10-acre property is our most excellent resource for creating an optimal learning environment for children.
• Our method of combining outdoor education and indoor academic studies has time and again proven to be a powerful antidote to the many obstacles children face today. Research suggests that both structured and unstructured outdoor activities have various benefits for children, including improved focus, increased critical thinking skills, and reductions in impulsivity.
• Nature helps develop a child’s senses, stimulates their imagination, playful spirit, and creativity, teaches them to take risks, and promotes respect for the earth and other people. Through daily outdoor experiences, children connect to nature and their community in an environment that facilitates overall health and wellbeing. There is no bad weather, only bad clothing!  

About Our Teachers

Kids Country Barn employs well qualified teachers with various backgrounds in both Montessori and Early Childhood Education. We provide staff ongoing professional development opportunities in both of these fields. Most fundamentally, teachers are hired on the basis of their passion for teaching, their capacity for care, and the philosophy that all children are valuable individuals with the desire and ability to exceed high expectations. Our Kids Country Barn co-teachers are a highly qualified and experienced team that embody these values.
